Long Beach Store Clerk Killed During Robbery
LONG BEACH (CBS) — A store clerk in Long Beach has been declared dead after being shot during a robbery attempt, according to police.
The robbery occured in the 1900 block of E. 4th Street near Cherry Street.
Police say two male Hispanics tried to rob P&B Liquor Jr Market.
The shooting reportedly occured just after 8 p.m.
Jay Jackson reported from the scene for CBS2 and KCAL9. He reported that officers responded to a "shots fired" call and discovered the clerk dead when they arrived.
The victim's name was withheld until his next of kin could be notified.
The suspects are at-large, say police.
