Pastor Admits To Helping Foreigners Get Fraudulent Student Visas

SANTA ANA (AP) — A Southern California pastor has pleaded guilty to helping foreigners fraudulently obtain student visas on a campus where they did not attend class.

Samuel Chai Cho Oh pleaded guilty to 10 counts of visa fraud and two counts of money laundering under a deal with federal prosecutors.

Oh says in court papers that he received so-called "tuition" payments from foreigners who were not studying at California Union University in Fullerton to help them get visas.

The 68-year-old university founder entered his plea in federal court in Santa Ana on Jan. 13.

He is set to be sentenced on May 9.

Defense attorney Donald C. Randolph says he will seek home detention for Oh.
