Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (January 18)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — It's a little cooler today, but temperatures are still well above average.

The high pressure ridge is slipping to the west and breaking down slightly. We are starting to see more of an on-shore flow, which will lead to a cool off in the extended forecast.

A weak system is dropping through Nevada and will push this cooling trend along through Wednesday.

The high pressure noses back in for Thursday when we are expecting a moderate Santa Ana wind event.

Even with temperatures bumping up and down, we should have daytime highs at or above average through the beginning of next week.

Today
Coastal - mid 70s
Basin - upper 70s
Valleys - upper 70s to low 80s
Deserts - low 70s
Mountains - mid 60s
