Ex-Dodger Arrested And Accused Of Making Terrorist Threats

ENCINO (CBS) —  Former LA Dodger outfielder Milton Bradley was arrested on suspicion of making terrorist threats Tuesday after a woman called the Los Angeles Police Department's West Valley Station.

Officers went to Bradley's home in the 5300 block of Oak Park Avenue at 10:40 a.m. and arrested him, said Officer Gregory Baek.

Seven hours later, Bradley's $50,000 bail was posted and he was released from custody, Baek said.

Bradley currently plays for the Seattle Mariners.

Jack Zduriencik, the Mariners executive vice president and general manager of baseball operations, confirmed that "Milton had been arrested and subsequently released in Los Angeles.

"While we do not yet have full details on what occurred, we are aware of the situation and take it very seriously," Zduriencik said.

"We are in the process of determining the full circumstances of what occurred today. Until we have more information, we will not be able to comment further."

Bradley, a graduate of Long Beach Polytechnic High School, has been involved in several off-the-field incidents since making his major league debut with the Montreal Expos eleven years ago.

In May, he volunteered to remove himself from a game and asked for help with a personal problem. He took a two-week leave from the team.

As a member of the Cleveland Indians in 2004, an altercation with manger Eric Wedge during spring training prompted his trade to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

In August 2005, the Daily Breeze reported that police responded to Bradley's Redondo Beach home three times on domestic violence calls.

One call followed an incident during which Bradley allegedly choked his then-pregnant wife, bloodied her lip and threw a cellular telephone into a wall, the newspaper reported.

No charges were filed.

In June 2004, Bradley drew a four-game suspension from Major League Baseball after throwing a ball bag onto the field after an argument with an umpire.

The Dodgers suspended Bradley in September 2004 for the final five games of the regular season and ordered him to undergo anger management sessions for throwing a plastic bottle into the stands.
