LOS ALAMITOS (CBS) — A baby girl was born on the side of the 605 Freeway in Los Alamitos early Monday morning, with her new father helping her into the world, a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.

The CHP received a call about the birth around 1:19 a.m., according to the dispatcher.

Paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority arrived to transport mother and baby to Los Alamitos Medical Center.
