LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Los Angeles firefighters put out nearly a dozen arson fires broke out in Hollywood overnight.
The first fire broke out at Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue at 3:54 a.m., Erik Scott of the fire department said, and was followed by at least eight others reported every 10 minutes or so.
According to reports, 11 trash cans were set on fire within a roughly 1-mile radius, but its not known if any property was damaged or if anyone was arrested.
Fires were reported in the 1300 block of North Sycamore Avenue, on McCadden Avenue, Highland Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, he said.
One of the fires reportedly threatened to spread to an adjacent building.
