Wheelchair-Bound Woman, 27, Missing Since Christmas

LOS ANGELES (CBS) —  A 27-year-old wheelchair-bound woman who has not been seen since just after Christmas remained missing today in Los Angeles.

Lateya Sharlon Carroll was last seen around 4 p.m. Dec. 26 leaving the area near 7000 block of Alondra Boulevard in Paramount, said Officer Sara Faden of the Los Angeles Police Department.

"Ms. Carroll requires ongoing medical attention and has not had any contact with her family since the day that she went missing," Faden said.

The police are hoping the public can provide them with a lead.

The missing woman is black, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 147 pounds.

She has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a red sweater.

Carroll requires a wheelchair for mobility.

Police urged anyone with information regarding Carroll's whereabouts to call LAPD's Missing Person's Unit at (213) 996-1800.
