LAUSD Appoints Replacement For Superintendent Cortines
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Los Angeles Unified School District appointed John Deasy as the new district superintendent. He will replace Ramon Cortines when he retires this spring.

Deasy was hired by the district in August to serve as Cortines' chief deputy.
Cortines, 78, previously announced that he would be retiring in the spring.
