Firefighter Injured In Commercial Blaze

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A firefighter was injured in a blaze that broke out at a two-story business and sent heavy plumes of smoke across the Crenshaw District Sunday, a city fire official said.

The fire was reported at 1:14 p.m. at 3941 S. Buckingham Road, at the corner of West Rev. Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, said Devin Gales of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

More than 130 firefighters were sent to battle the blaze, and six ambulances were at the scene, Gales said.

There were early reports of an injured firefighter, and Gales said the rescuer was found and suffered a minor injury. No other injuries were reported.

The fire was put out in just over an hour and a half, Gales said.
