SAN CLEMENTE (CBS) —  At least six hillside homes in San Clemente were threatened by a mudslide Friday.

Firefighters were called to 247 Via Ballena about 10 a.m., Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Greg McKeown said.

Six residences along a golf course were threatened by the slide. At least four of the homes were red-tagged, McKeown said, adding some of the mud ended up on the course.

City officials will be managing the response from now on, McKeown said. City Hall was closed today, so attempts to contact San Clemente officials were not immediately successful.
