Elderly Couple From New Mexico Vanish On Way Home From Riverside County

PERRIS (CBS) — Authorities say an elderly couple visiting Riverside County vanished on their way home to New Mexico.

William and Geraldine Flounders of Santa Fe, were last seen Tuesday morning, before leaving a relative's house in the 16000 block of Rocky Bluff Road in Lake Matthews, just west of Perris, according to the sheriff's department.

The couple, both in their 70s, were in the area for a holiday visit.

Sheriff's officials said that when they failed to reach their home as planned Thursday, family members became concerned.

The Flounders departed from Lake Matthews between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Tuesday in a white 1998 Dodge van. The personalized Arizona license plate reads "ROCKART," according to the sheriff's department.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts was asked to call the sheriff's Perris station at (951) 210-1000.
