Camera Aficionado To Be Honored By Academy

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The co-founder of a company that rents cameras and other gear to filmmakers is being recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The Academy announced Friday that Denny Clairmont, co-founder of Clairmont Camera, will be awarded the John A. Bonner medal at next month's scientific and technical award ceremony.

The Academy says Clairmont Camera has fostered the exchange of ideas between camera users and manufacturers.

The medallion is awarded for "outstanding service and dedication in upholding the high standards" of the Academy.

Clairmont will be presented with the award at the Feb. 12 ceremony at the Beverly Wilshire hotel.
