2 hurt As Bus, Big-Rig Collide In Riverside

RIVERSIDE (AP) — A big-rig truck has caught fire after colliding with a local commuter bus in Riverside but only two minor injuries are reported.

Riverside fire Battalion Chief Mike Koury says the accident happened at around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Koury says the rig's truck and trailer caught fire after its diesel tanks broke open and began spilling fuel into the street. It was carrying televisions and other non-hazardous goods.

Koury says the bus was empty except for the driver.

He says both drivers had minor injuries and the trucker was taken to a hospital for examination.

Riverside is 60 miles east of Los Angeles.
