LOS ANGELES (AP) — A home invasion robbery suspect has been shot to death in a confrontation with Los Angeles police officers.

Sgt. Christopher Wilbourn says two men burst into a couple’s South Los Angeles home at about 10:45 p.m. Sunday.

City News Service says the husband managed to slip away and telephone police from a neighbor’s home and the woman hid inside the home.

Wilbourn says a suspect was shot when he tried to run out of the home as officers entered. Another suspect was arrested inside the home.

The sergeant says a handgun and a machine gun were recovered.

There are no other details.
