Hiking Couple Rescued After Being Lost In Cleveland National Forest
LAKE ELSINORE (CBS) — A Los Angeles County couple who hiked into the Cleveland National Forest and called 911 telling authorities they were lost, has been found safe and sound, according to authorities.
On Sunday, one of the hikers called 911 and said they were hopelessly lost on the Riverside County side of the Cleveland National Forest.
Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Ray Nava said the twentysomething couple, Devin Jent of Pasadena and Heather Johann of Venice, were found Monday shortly before noon.
He said both were in "good condition."
The all-volunteer Riverside Mountain Rescue Team joined the search, along with the Orange County sheriff's Search & Rescue Team, Sierra Madre Search & Rescue, San Bernardino Mountain Search & Rescue and the U.S. Forest Service's mountain rescue team.
