Suspect Arrested After 2 Stabbed At OC Hotel
COSTA MESA (AP) — Authorities say a suspect is behind bars after two men were stabbed, one fatally, during a fight following a New Year's Eve party at a Costa Mesa hotel.
Lt. Bryan Glass of the Costa Mesa Police Department said Saturday that 23-year-old Adam Baker of Dana Point was booked for suspicion of homicide and attempted homicide.
Glass tells City News Service the altercation broke out in a parking lot as the party at the Costa Mesa Hilton ended.
A 27-year-old man, Robert Sickles, was stabbed in the chest and died.
Another victim, 26-year-old Brian McTeigue, sustained a stab wound to the back and was hospitalized.
Police officers broke up the fight and arrested Baker, who was being held by witnesses. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
