RIVERSIDE (CBS) — It all started about 8 months ago: Vanesa Delfino felt something was missing in her life even though she works, takes classes at Riverside Community College, and attends church.
After hearing her pastor’s call to service one Sunday morning, Vanesa decided right then and there what she had to do, and her sister joined in the effort.
KNX 1070′s Diane Thompson reports.
In December, about forty people from Vanesa’s church joined with her to make sack lunches for some members of the homeless community in Riverside.
With the church pastor joining the effort with fresh-baked cookies, the group was able to feed 70 people.
Vanesa has become such a familiar site, the homeless know when to expect her sack lunch deliveries.
