LOS ANGELES (AP) – Mike Richards had two goals and two assists,Michael Leighton made 32 saves in a raucous season debut and the Philadelphia Flyers lit up the Los Angeles Kings’ normally sturdy
defense in a 7-4 victory Thursday night.

Danny Briere, James van Riemsdyk and Jeff Carter each had a goal and an assist for the Flyers, who rebounded from consecutive losses by shredding the mistake-prone Kings.
Los Angeles gave up 13 goals in back-to-back losses to close a stretch of four games in five days.
Scott Hartnell and Jeff Carter also scored during Philadelphia’s four-goal second period that chased Kings goalie Jonathan Bernier.
Ville Leino scored a third-period goal, and Claude Giroux had a career-high three assists for the Flyers.
