Man Arrested After Allegedly Holding His Mother-In-Law Hostage

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police have arrested a man they say held his mother-in-law hostage for six hours in a Hollywood home.

Sgt. Rudy Vidal tells the Los Angeles Times that a domestic violence report sent officers to the home at around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, leading to a standoff with the man inside.

Vidal says the man surrendered and released the woman at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, shortly after SWAT teams arrived.

Vidal says the man wasn’t armed and the woman wasn’t hurt.

He was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats. His name wasn’t immediately released.

What did he say threatening? Maybe, “If you make THAT casserole again, I’m gonna kill somebody?” OK. Mother-In-Law jokes – place here: …😉

So, she remained in the house, not wanting to walk into a police shoot out with her dopey son in law and suddenly that’s construed as “being held hostage”?
