RIVERSIDE (CBS) — Authorities say a Temecula dentist had sex with an underage girl who he was coaching in gymnastics.

David Martinus Rejakvam, 42, is set to be arraigned Tuesday on one count each of unlawful sex with a minor, lewd acts on a child under 14 and oral copulation of a minor.

The doctor, who runs Rejakvam Family & Cosmetic Dentistry at 28910 Rancho California Road, is free on $50,000 bail. Rejakvam was arrested Nov. 2 following an investigation by the Riverside Police Department’s sex crimes unit.

If convicted of all charges, he could face 21 years in state prison.

Detective Wayne Ramaekers said the doctor coached gymnastics at a privately owned facility in Riverside and “had an alleged sexual relationship with an … athlete while residing in Riverside.”

Neither the facility nor the victim’s identity were disclosed.
