LOS ANGELES (AP) — California is in for another round of cold, wet, snowy and blustery weather.

The National Weather Service says a storm moving down into the state Tuesday is being fueled by a plume of subtropical moisture from north of Hawaii combined with low pressure over the Northeast Pacific.

Gale warnings are up along almost the entire coast, flood watches have been posted in parts of far northwestern California and the Central Valley, and warnings have been issued the length of the Sierra Nevada for heavy snow.

In Southern California, cleanup of damage from last week’s rain continues. Shovel-toting volunteers have taken advantage of still-sunny weather to clear mud from around homes in Highland, and Caltrans is working on damage that has closed or limited use of many routes in the inland region east of Los Angeles.
