The board's executive director Linda Whitney says Dr. Ehab Aly Mohamed's suspension means he cannot perform any cosmetic surgical procedure involving piercing of the skin, among other limitations.
Mohamed is also accused of posing as a Harvard professor and telling patients he was enrolling them in a Harvard study, but the board could not find evidence that he has any affiliation with the prestigious school, or that the studies exist.
His case is scheduled for hearing on Jan. 10.
