KNX 1070's Mike Landa Reports
The girl and her friend were walking their dogs along the creek near South Glassell Street at 12 p.m. Monday when she dipped her feet in the water and was swept up in the current, Battalion Chief Chris Boyd said.
The girl's friend hollered for help and three men ran over and pulled her out of the water just as firefighters arrived, Boyd said.
Paramedics evaluated the girl and took her to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries, he said.
"It only takes a foot of water and it can sweep you off your feet," Boyd said, reminding the public about the dangers of stepping into any body of water after last week's heavy rainfall and flooding.
