Pot-Growing Operation Allegedly Poses As Travel Agency, Clothing Store

MONTROSE (AP) — Police have arrested five men on suspicion of running a pot-growing operation that used a travel agency and a clothing store in a Los Angeles suburb as fronts.

Glendale police Sgt. Tom Lorenz says Blue Seas travel and the neighboring Fast Fashion clothing shop in the community of Montrose had been converted into a marijuana-cultivation operation with grow-lights, ventilation and 381 pot plants.

Another 40 plants were found in the apartment of one of the arrested men during Wednesday's bust.

The five men were being held in lieu of $30,000 bail. One of the men was identified as Mike Minas Boyadjian, 32, of Glendale.

The owner of a dry cleaning shop across the street from Blue Seas and Fast Fashion tells the Los Angeles Times that he saw no unusual activity at the stores, but that he noticed they were always closed.
