$168M Jackpot Up For Grabs: An Early Christmas Present?

LOS ANGELES (CBS) —  Christmas might have come a little early for someone. That is, if the someone picked all six numbers in Friday's Mega Millions draw. The jackpot was an estimated $168 million.

That's a lot of Christmas.

The numbers drawn are 15, 16, 27, 40, 52 and the Mega number is 16.

The estimated jackpot is the largest since May. If no tickets are sold with all six numbers, the jackpot for the next drawing, scheduled for Tuesday, would rise to $196 million, a California Lottery official said.

And for the record, $196 million would be a nice way to close out the year.

The drawing was the 13th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold. A ticket with all six numbers for the Nov. 9 draw was sold in Ohio and was worth $25 million.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 175,711,536, according to the Mega Millions website.

The Mega Millions game is played in 38 states and the District of Columbia.
