Gunman Who Killed 2 At Birthday Party Gets 198 Years In Prison

LONG BEACH (AP) — A 22-year-old Southern California man has been sentenced to 198 years in prison for a 2008 birthday party shooting that left two teenagers dead.

Jonzel Stringer of Bellflower was the second man convicted in the Jan. 19, 2008, shootings during a party at the Lakewood Masonic Temple in east Long Beach. His 19-year-old co-defendant Izac McCloud was sentenced in October to 202 years in prison.

Stringer and McCloud were each convicted on two counts of second-degree murder and 46 counts of assault with a firearm.

Prosecutors say Stringer got into a fight with gang rivals at the party and he, and McCloud, pulled guns and fired into a crowd.
