LOS ANGELES (CBS) —  Los Angeles Galaxy star Landon Donovan filed for divorce Wednesday from his actress wife.

Donovan, 28, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the breakup of his nearly four-year marriage to Bianca Kajlich, who stars as Jennifer on the CBS comedy series “Rules of Engagement.”

He filed the petition in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday and is representing himself.

The couple wed on New Year’s Eve 2006 and separated on Oct. 31, 2009, according to the petition. He is requesting that Kajlich pay his attorneys’ fees.

The couple have no children.
