SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO (CBS/KNX1070) — An evacuation order has been lifted for hundreds of homes and dozens of businesses along Trabuco Creek in San Juan Capistrano.
Orange County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Dan Dwyer says there is no danger to the public from erosion of the concrete lining of Trabuco Creek, south of the Obispo Bridge.
“At this time we have Public Works with the county delivering rocks that will be put out on both sides. Both sides of the Trabuco Creek will have additional deputies throughout the night,” Dwyer said.
About 400 homes in the neighborhoods of Paseo Adelanto and Del Obispo were evacuated Wednesday as a result of erosion of the concrete lining of Trabuco Creek.
The Orange County flood-control district plans to shore up the channel walls.
