LOS ANGELES (AP) — It was a scary moment for Paris Hilton: A knife on a Hawaii-bound jetliner delayed her flight out of Los Angeles.
Hilton posted two tweets Tuesday about how she and 203 other passengers aboard a Delta Air Lines Boeing 757 were ordered off before takeoff at Los Angeles International Airport. Flight 1197, which also had a crew of eight, was heading for Maui.
Hilton tweeted “security made everyone deplane because they found a big knife.” Then, she punched up, “Scary that it got on plane” and “So strange a knife got on board.”
Delta spokeswoman Susan Elliott says it was a catering knife accidentally left behind by the cabin crew and the search was a precaution. The flight was delayed about an hour.
Federal Transportation Security Administration spokesman Nico Melendez says TSA wasn’t involved.
