LOS ANGELES (CBS)  — Two people were injured, one critically, in an apparent car-to-car shooting in Echo Park Thursday.

The shooting was reported at 1:30 p.m. near Sunset Boulevard and Everett Street, said Richard French of the Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations Section.

“There were two victims involved,” French said. “One victim was shot in the wrist and the other victim was shot in the head.”

French said the person who was shot in the head was hospitalized in critical condition.

“There was a suspect vehicle involved as well,” French said. “The suspect vehicle crashed into another vehicle at the car wash at Sunset and Everett. A suspect was taken into custody.”

The motive for the shooting was unknown.
