'The Talk,' Union Station Team Up To Help Local Families

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The hosts of the CBS hit show, "The Talk," teamed up with the Union Station, a shelter that houses homeless families and children, to help a local family in need.

Jennifer Guiterrez, a single mother of three from Pasadena, lost her children when they became dependents of the court, after she was cited for a series of domestic violence episodes and substance abuse.

Guiterrez has turned her life around after being reunited with her children.

She has been living at Euclid Villa, Union Station's transitional housing program, but now Jennifer and her children are about to move in to affordable housing.

She currently is working as a sales consultant but wishes to give back to her community by working with domestic abuse victims.

K-Mart generously donated clothes, toys, bedding, appliances, furniture and supplies to the Guiterrez family.

The superstore also donated furnishings, electronics and a washer/dryer for the common areas of Union Station.

In addition, K-Mart provided $500 gift cards to the 50 families currently living in Euclid Villa.
