SANTA CLARITA (CBS) — Two arrests were made in the so-called Craigslist robbery where the victims drove from Hollywood to Santa Clarita to buy a camera at an unbelievable price but instead became victims of a robbery, a sheriff’s sergeant said Monday.

The victims drove to the 19200 block of Golden Valley Road on Nov. 20 where they were met by three suspects wearing ski masks who blocked their vehicle in and took all their personal belongings as well as the cash they had brought to buy the camera and their cell phones, said Sgt. Darren Harris of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Department.

The suspects fled in a black BMW that had no license plates.

Detectives from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station unraveled a tangled web of electronic communications to identify a potential suspect. They were helped by Los Angeles Police Department detectives because a similar case had occurred in the North Hollywood area, Harris said.

Talin Shahin, 25, of North Hollywood was detained and the cell phones that had been taken in Santa Clarita were recovered. She was detained on Dec. 3 when she came in to the North Hollywood Community Police Station to recover some property.

A second suspect, Aram Damirjian, 27, of Canyon Country was arrested at the San Fernando Superior Court last Tuesday when he appeared on an unrelated marijuana charge.

Detectives served a search warrant at Damirjian’s home in the 28200 block of Winterdale Drive in Canyon Country and found not only evidence of a robbery, but a substantial marijuana grow with more than 90 plants inside.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s detectives believe another male suspect was also involved.
Anyone with information on the case was asked to call (661) 799-5141.
