Can't Eat Just One: Baby Mice Burst Out Of Bag Of Chips

LONDON (CBS) — Imagine doing your weekly grocery shopping, perusing the snacks aisle for some goodies to take home before ultimately deciding on a tasty bag of chips for the kids.

Now imagine six pink baby mice jumping out of that bag.

That was the scenario for one mom in Birmingham, England, after she claims to have seen a half-dozen pink mice emerging from a multi-pack bag of potato chips at a local Tesco grocery store.

Liz Wray says that while the sight was "revolting", she managed to snap a few quick pictures on her phone of the rodents, but was told by store officials that they would not be shutting the store down.

"I was with a work colleague who reached out towards the crisps and started screaming," says Wray. "All the staff did was put a cardboard box over the mice and closed aisle six."

The store remained open after the incident, a move company officials have since defended.

"This was clearly an upsetting discovery for our customer, for which we are very sorry," said a spokesman for Tesco.
