DUI Suspect Arrested After Crash That Killed 3, Injured Boy

VERNON (AP) — A hit-and-run driving suspect has been arrested after a crash near downtown Los Angeles that killed three people and injured a 6-year-old boy.

City fire spokesman Devin Gales said Sunday that a Honda was hit by a Dodge pickup truck at an intersection in Vernon on Saturday night.

The driver reportedly fled, but was later arrested. Police say he is expected to be charged with felony hit-and-run and drunken driving.

Coroner's officials say three people in the Honda were killed: 25-year-old Jessika Quinonez-Gonzalez, 30-year-old Rafael Chavez-Rodriguez and Amanda Samayoa, who is believed to be about 70.

The boy was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
