LOS ANGELES (AP) — Health officials have shut down a Los Angeles clinic that caters to porn stars after it lost its state operating license.
County health director Dr. Jonathan Fielding says his department issued a cease and desist order to the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation clinic on Thursday morning.
Fielding says state officials told the clinic in May that it was wrongly operating with a physician’s license instead of a community clinic license. AIM’s application for a community clinic was denied Wednesday.
Separately, the clinic has come under fire for being reluctant to share information about HIV tests with state and local officials. The clinic says it has upheld federal medical privacy laws for patients.
