PALM DESERT (CBS) — Police arrested a 42-year-old Palm Desert man Wednesday that they said attempted to kidnap a 9-year-old boy.
Authorities said police got a call at 2:57 p.m., about 15 minutes after a man supposedly grabbed an arm of one of three boys walking together near Magnesia Falls Drive and Portola Avenue.
At 3:06 p.m., deputies stopped a pedestrian who matched a description provided by the boys, sheriff’s spokeswoman Herlinda Valenzuela reported.
She said the 9-year-old, who was not hurt, and the two other boys all identified the man as the suspect.
Valenzuela said deputies took Brian Kelly into custody without incident.
