Pa. Couple Wanted For Dismembering Man At LA Hotel

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities are looking for a Pennsylvania couple suspected of killing a man and stuffing his body parts in a backpack and under a bed at a Los Angeles hotel.

Melissa and Edward Garcia Jr. are charged with torturing and murdering a Hollywood man at the Continental Hotel near Skid Row.

The Los Angeles Times said Wednesday a housekeeper discovered the body parts of 49-year-old Herbert Tracy White on Nov. 29 in a backpack left in a room. More parts were found wrapped in blankets under the bed.





Police detective Kelle Baitx says the body was in five pieces, with the limbs removed.

Baitx says it appears that White was killed during a robbery that went wrong and the killers were trying to remove the body.
