Couple Found Dead In Laguna Woods Senior Community

LAGUNA WOODS, Calif. (AP) —  Southern California authorities say a 77-year-old man and his 72-year-old wife have been shot to death in their home at a retirement community in Orange County.

Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino says a caretaker who works for the couple heard them arguing heatedly, then heard two gunshots shortly after 1 p.m. Monday. She ran outside then heard two more shots, returned to the house to find the man lying on the floor and called 911.

Amormino says deputies found the couple dead when they arrived.

The spokesman was not immediately able to say who fired the shots.

The couple's names have not been released.

They lived in Laguna Woods, a set of senior residential communities 45 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
