Officials Believe They've Found Remains Of Missing Skydiver

PERRIS (CBS) — Officials believe the remains of a skydiver, who had been missing since September, were found Tuesday.

Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Joseph Borja says a farm worker who was plowing a field west of Murrieta Road apparently found the remains of a skydiver.

The remains have not been officially identified but authorities believe they are likely those of Vladimir Frolov, a 50-year-old Russian tourist who had been missing since September.

There have been no other reports of missing skydivers in the area.

Officials also said it appears that neither Frolov's parachute or back-up parachute functioned.
