Crews Battle Fire At Commercial Building In Tustin

TUSTIN (AP) —Dozens of firefighters have doused an office building blaze in Orange County that caused significant damage but no injuries.

The blaze broke out around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on Irvine Boulevard in Tustin. More than 80 firefighters knocked down the fire in about two hours, but witnesses say about half of the building appears to be a total loss. The two-story building housed a variety of businesses.

Orange County Fire Authority Battalion Chief Kris Concepcion says crews used ladders and hoses to fight the flames because it was too dangerous to go inside.

Concepcion says it's unclear whether anyone was inside when the fire began.

The blaze sent up a huge plume of smoke that drifted across the county.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
