WILMINGTON (CBS) — Thieves reportedly drove their own big rigs to a trailer depot near the Port of Los Angeles and stole several loaded trailers.

KNX 1070’s John Brooks Reports

The suspects struck the location at Farragut Avenue and Anaheim Street in Wilmington at about 1:15 a.m., Sgt. Brian O’Connor said. Police said multiple suspects took an unknown number of containers with unknown cargo.

A videographer who spoke with police at the scene said two armed men wearing masks beat up a male and female guard and fled with two loaded trailers.

The heist remained under investigation.
