Ruptured DWP Line Floods Streets In Downtown

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Street flooding in downtown Los Angeles was caused by a ruptured two-inch service line Friday, but it did not disrupt service to the area, a Los Angeles DWP official said.

The street flooding was reported at Sixth Street and Broadway at 9:04 a.m. by a passersby, Los Angeles Fire spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

The flooding was caused by a broken two-inch service line, a DWP representative said.

Crews are working on the break and it should be repaired by early Friday afternoon, she said.

Service was not disrupted to any DWP customers.
