Police: No Clues In Corona School Bomb Threat

CORONA (CBS) — A bomb threat against a Corona high school on Monday triggered an intense search but no clues.

An anonymous caller phoned in a threat to authorities shortly before 7 a.m., saying Centennial High School, located at 1820 Rimpau Ave., had been targeted for a possible bomb attack, according to Corona police.

Though the campus is closed for Thanksgiving break, officers immediately initiated a search of the grounds, deploying a bomb-sniffing K9, said Sgt. Kim Velasco.

She said no explosives were detected by the dog, and officers didn't identify anything suspicious during a sweep of the campus.

Extra patrols were assigned to the location, and school security was tightened following the threat, according to Velasco.

Anyone with information was urged to call Corona police at (951) 736-2330.
