Festival Will Donate Some Proceeds To Family Of Slain Officer
LAKE ELSINORE (CBS) — Sunday's Wagon Wheel Country Music Festival is donating $10 from every ticket sold — and half of any ticket purchased by a law enforcement officer — to the foundation supporting the family of Officer Ryan Bonaminio.
Bonaminio, a 27-year-old patrolman with the Riverside Police Department who also served in Iraq, was shot to death last Sunday as he pursued a man who had allegedly stolen a big rig from a rental facility.
Bonaminio was killed during a foot pursuit, possibly with his own gun. The suspect was later arrested.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department says a moment of silence will be observed for Bonaminio at the event on Sunday.
The festival will take place at Lake Elsinore Stadium. For more information, call (951)245-4487 or go to www.wagonwheelfestival.com.
