Highlights: Los Alamitos Wins Sunset League

LONG BEACH (CBS) -Sweet 16.  A celebration for Los Alamitos Thursday night.  Nick Richardson set a tone in the 1st quarter for the Griffins.  On a 3rd and 37, Richardson scurried 57 yards for the Griffins first touchdown of the night.  After a blocked extra point, the Griffins led 6-0.  But that was the first of many homeruns for Los Alamitos (8-2, 5-0) in their 26-21 win over Edison in the Sunset League championship.  It's the 16th league title for head coach John Barnes as Los Al head coach.

The major run producer, if you will, on the night was wide receiver Richard Turner.  The senior tallied three total touchdowns --a 78 yard touchdown catch, a four yard touchdown run, and a 70 yard touchdown run -- in the win as the Griffins overwhelmed Edison with their speed.

The Chargers (7-3, 4-1) cut the deficit to 26-21 with four minutes left in the game but never got the ball back.  The Griffins were superb in execution the four minute offense, thanks in part to a 41 yard run by Richardson and some clutch carries from Faraimo.  Richardson finished the game with 155 yards on the ground.  Tailback Cody Paul was limited for the majority of the game because of injuries.  Paul suffered a broken finger in the win.
