Culver City Man Admits To Pot Transporting Scheme

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A California man has pleaded guilty to his role in an alleged scheme that shipped hundreds of pounds of marijuana to Ohio on 14 airplane trips.

The government says David Garrett of Culver City, Calif., oversaw several 500-pound shipments of marijuana, sometimes directing others to conceal the odor with dryer sheets.

The 28-year-old Garrett pleaded guilty Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Columbus to distributing more than 2,000 pounds of the drug.

Garrett is one of six California residents charged in September with conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute. He faces a minimum of 10 years in prison.

Garrett turned himself into authorities in September. He didn't make a statement in court and his attorney, Neil Rosenberg, declined to comment afterward.
