3 Injured After Car And Train Collide Downtown

LOS ANGELES (CBS)  — Authorities report three people have been injured, one seriously, after a train and car collided just south of downtown Wednesday afternoon.

The accident in the 400 block of West 18th Street was reported at 3:13 p.m., Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

One person in the car suffered what paramedics called severe injuries, Scott said. Three people who were on the train complained of injuries, but were not believed to be seriously hurt, he said, adding that two were taken to hospitals.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
