By Rahshaun Haylock

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Classic took yet another turn Friday night, as 20,000 fans once again filled Weingart Stadium for the 76th edition of The East L.A. Classic.

Fans and players alike were treated to a new look on the field. Once players went into their respective locker rooms before the game they found brand new uniforms from Nike waiting on them.

For Roosevelt, it was black jerseys and black pants, with "RIDERS" on the front of the jerseys and "EAST LA" on the back of the pants.

In the Garfield locker room, white tops with stripes on the sleeves and "DOGS" down the side of the blue pants. The numbers on the jerseys for Garfield were fonted similar to what we saw on the Virginia Tech uniforms in their 33-30 loss to Bosie State
on Labor Day.

The Bulldogs, however, had much better results Friday night than the Hokies did in September. Garfield beat their rivals 13-3 thanks to a 37-yard TD pass from backup quarterback Leonardo Vaal to Steven De La Torre in the 4th quarter. Garfield (5-4, 5-0) has now won five of the last six in The Classic. Roosevelt (5-4, 2-3) leads the overall series 40-30-6.
