Mom Defends Boy's 'Daphne' Halloween Costume

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A controversy on the Internet has turned into a national debate after a little boy dressed up as "Daphne" from the cartoon "Scooby Doo" for a Halloween party at school.

The 5-year old's outfit drew criticism from parents and has sparked strong opinions on what's appropriate for young kids to wear, even as a Halloween costume.

When the boy's mom wrote a blog post about the incident at school and posted a picture of the pre-schooler, she received millions of page hits and tens of thousands of comments — most of them critical of her allowing the boy to wear the costume.

KFWB's  Maggie McKay asks family therapist Susan Stone if she thinks the woman's critics are making too much of a fuss.
