Actor James Van Der Beek Raises Awareness About Ulcerative Colitis

STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Actor James Van Der Beek stopped by KCAL9 Monday to raise awareness for ulcerative colitis and talk about his adventure as a new dad.

His mother suffers from the condition. Many UC patients are often too embarrassed to talk about this disease so the actor is lending his voice to the cause.

Van Der Beek is well known for his leading role on "Dawson's Creek." He has also been seen starring in several hit films over the past couple of years, including "Varsity Blues" and "Texas Rangers."
